See who opened your link

Share a file through reshare and every open is counted on the server. Click the view count next to any link in your dashboard and you see a 30 day chart plus each recent visit: the device and browser, the city, where the visitor came from, and when. Free, on every link.

This page is for the question you actually have after you hit send: did they open it?

How it works

  1. 01

    Share the link

Upload a file, send the link by email, chat, or anywhere else.

  2. 02

    Views count themselves

Counting happens on the server when the page is served. Nothing is injected into your file, and it works even when the link is password protected.

  3. 03

    Check who opened it

Click the view count on your dashboard. Each visit shows as something like "Chrome on Mac, Toronto, Canada, from google.com, 8:24 PM".

What each view tells you

The device and browser, the viewer country, region, and city, the site the visitor came from when a browser reports one, and the time. Viewers stay anonymous: reshare never asks them to sign in, and their IP address is never stored. Location is resolved to city level at the moment of the visit and only the place name is kept.

Bots are labeled, and they are a signal

Paste a link into Slack, iMessage, or Twitter and those apps fetch it once to build the preview card. reshare shows those fetches labeled for what they are, "Bot (Slackbot)" for example, instead of pretending they are people. Read them as a signal: a Slackbot view at 3:02 means someone shared your link in Slack at 3:02, before any human clicked it.

Why counting on the server matters

Trackers usually work by planting a pixel or script inside the content. reshare counts a view when its server serves the page, so your file stays exactly the byte-for-byte file you uploaded, ad blockers do not skew the numbers, and it works for every file type: PDFs, pages, videos, decks, spreadsheets, images.

The same detail is available through the reshare connector (MCP). Connect it to Claude and "did anyone open the proposal I sent yesterday?" gets a real answer: how many opens, from where, on what.
