Share a file with only specific people
Upload a file to reshare, switch the link to "only specific people," and add the email addresses that should see it. Link viewers authenticate with Google to verify access, so only the people you add can open the file. The link stays the same short URL, like link.reshare.one/aB3xY9kLmn, and you can add or remove people whenever you want.
This page is for when a plain link is too open and a shared password is too loose: you want named people, verified by their Google account, and nobody else.

How it works
- 01
Upload and share
Drop your file in the box above and sign in with Google. You get a short link right away.
- 02
Choose who can view
On your dashboard, open the file settings and choose "Only specific people," then add the email addresses you want to invite.
- 03
They sign in to open it
Link viewers authenticate with Google to verify access. If they have access, the file opens. If not, they see a page saying they do not have access.
How access is checked
Access is decided by the Google email a visitor authenticates with, not by anything they type. When someone opens a restricted link, they authenticate with Google to verify access, and the server checks that email against your list of people on every request. Remove a person and their next visit no longer has access.
You can always open your own link, whether or not you added your own address to the list.
Restrict by email vs a password
A password is one shared secret: anyone who has it can open the link, and you cannot see who did. Restricting by email is per person: each viewer authenticates with Google to verify access, you decide exactly who can open it, and you can remove one person without changing anything for the rest. A link is in one mode at a time, so you pick a password or specific people, not both.
Google accounts only
Viewers prove their identity by signing in with Google, so the addresses on your list need to be Google accounts: a Gmail address, or a Google Workspace address on a company domain. Add the exact address each person signs in with. Signing in is one click and does not create a reshare account for the viewer.
The link and the list can change
Adding or removing people never changes the URL, so a link you already sent keeps working for everyone who still has access. Switch the link back to anyone with the link at any time and it opens for everyone again. Switch it to a password instead and your list of people is set aside, ready if you turn restriction back on later.
Who can restrict a link
Restricting a link to specific people is a Pro feature. Free accounts see the option and can upgrade to use it. Pro accounts can restrict as many links as they like, with up to 100 people on each.
